Model Quality
The overall degree to which a model meets the behavioral, accuracy, and user experience standards required for its intended use.
Model quality is an umbrella term for how well a model performs across the dimensions that matter for a given product or use case. Quality isn’t a single number — it’s a composite of factors like accuracy, helpfulness, tone, safety, consistency, and latency. What counts as “high quality” varies significantly by context: a creative writing assistant has different quality requirements than a medical information tool. For behavior architects, defining model quality means first agreeing with stakeholders on which dimensions matter most, then building evaluations that measure them reliably. Without explicit quality criteria, “the model feels off” is hard to investigate and even harder to fix systematically.
